Choosing a Sign-in option
At the Windows Login or Lock screen there will be a "Sign-in options", which will allow you to choose which sign in method you wish to use to either login or unlock the device. Windows will remember the last used method for a specific user and choose that as the default option to select.
Windows Hello options
To enable Windows Hello the Entra account must be MFA verified, either directly or from the Google Workspace sign in. If it is not verified the enrolment process fails.
Because of this Windows Hello enrolment is disabled on computer lab devices as they should only be used by Students and their accounts are not MFA enrolled.
Web Sign-in
Web Sign-in (WSI) is the method that should be used to login to a device that a user has not logged into before. The user will be presented with a Google sign in page, hardware based security keys are not supported for MFA when using WSI, another MFA method must be used. Every Web Sign-in use will prompt for MFA.
Note: This method is the only method that can be used on computer lab devices
Password
Password sign in can not be used for any College account, only enabled as it is a requirement for service accounts to function
PIN (Windows Hello)
PIN is the primary Windows Hello sign in option, PIN setup is required before the other Windows Hello based options can be setup
Facial Recognition (Windows Hello)
Facial recognition is supported on any device with a webcam that support the enhanced anti-spoofing technologies. All College laptops built in webcams support this.
Fingerprint recognition (Windows Hello)
Fingerprint recognition is supported on any device with a fingerprint scanner. All College laptops have fingerprint readers, which is either the power button itself or there is a standalone fingerprint scanner embedded in the keyboard case.
