Yubikeys are a faster and more secure way of signing into new devices, you will have a Temporary PIN assigned to you by the ICT Team.
You will only need to go through this process once per Yubikey
So if you do need to log onto a new device, just insert your Yubikey, enter your PIN and touch the fingerpad.
Windows
Get to the Sign in screen as shown below by signing out or restarting your device
Insert your Yubikey, do not enter your temporary PIN at this stage.
Wait until the screen changes to the one shown in the next step.
Shortly after inserting your Yubikey you'll be asked for:
- Current Temporary PIN
- New PIN
- Confirm your new PIN
After setting your new PIN follow the on screen prompts to touch the fingerpad on your Yubikey, after which you'll be signed into your account.
Google Account
If you are already signed into Chrome with your college Google account you will need to go to your accounts page. If you aren't signed into your College google account do so
Go to the Security & sign-in section and scroll down until you see the Passkeys and security keys option.
If your Yubikey isn't plugged into your device then do so now.
Click Create a passkey
Click Use another device, you'll then be asked to enter your Yubikey PIN and then touch the fingerpad on the Yubikey.
If see a message like the one below your Yubikey is now successfully assigned to your Google account.
